Bethany Bailey began dancing at age 6 through Chicago Park District programs and fell in love with it. At age 13, she found a place assisting and taking classes with the dance family at U Dance Corps under Maurel Samonte. There, she developed her foundation in ballet, pointe, acrobatics, and modern, while cultivating her passion in lyrical. Through her parents' ministry involvement in the South Asian Bangladeshi community, Bethany began studying classical Bengali folk dance, performing at a number of community functions and festivals. Always intrigued by learning and understanding various cultures, she delved even further into this interest in high school and college as a choreographer and performer in church and school worship dance groups. Through high school and some of her time as as student at NorthPark University, she taught ballet and creative movement for children. After graduating with a B.A. in English literature and a secondary teaching certificate for English and ESL, Bethany sought another creative outlet and has been delighted to find a new and beautifully challenging dance family with Reveries since joining the company in 2011.
